                                      on Ann's Flower Workshops

As a complete novice, I went from fear to tentative play to complete joy in finding out that I can do it! I hope to see you again soon!

This was great! The total acceptance you provide for us to explore and get lost- and the help you offer us to find our way back. Thank You!

As an absolute beginner- having not put brush to paint in fifty years- it was with some trepidation that I arrived…Ann, your soft and gentle manner set the tone for a wonderful week. I could not have had a better teacher.

I enjoyed it all despite the tremors. I love painting and I appreciate your style of teaching. You are a wonderful spirit! Thanks so much. I look forward to our next meeting

                    Michelle, Nurse Practitioner

I learned that petals are not petals but shapes and you have the right to try it as many times as you need to. And that to be a beginner could also be an exciting place to be where a new world of unknown blues can keep mixing itself to eternity to give birth to new greens. And that it is safe to be around Ann. I learned a lot more than that actually. A whole lot.

You really taught the best art class I have ever taken.

his was a marvelous course in every way. Just forcing myself to sit and work in a limited time frame was a tremendous plus- normally I would waste time with puttering around when not actually on a job. Your instruction and comments are on the mark & encouraging. The visuals and demos were on the mark with sufficient variation to point anyone in a direction that suits each individual.

This was a wonderful experience for me. I came here wanting to become familiar with the watercolor medium. I came away not only with that but also with a greater sense of how to tap into my creative, non-judging side to allow myself to “play.”  It’s like I needed someone’s permission to not create perfection, but to experiment and enjoy the experience and to gradually begin to understand the painting process. I will take many lasting impressions away with me and will read your book repeatedly to remind me how to get in touch with my “right brain,” which I feel is often squelched by daily life. I can’t thank you enough for figuring out how to teach this way. You have helped me a great deal!
                   Margaret, Graphic Designer

Such a pleasure to look forward to something so much and have it meet and exceed my expectations. I learned a lot and it was so good to have the opportunity and encouragement to paint all day. You’re a terrific teacher and watercolorist!
                Joan, Writer/Watercolor Teacher

Absolutely Wonderful! You have such a beautiful way of making us all feel good and safe. I, like all of us here, am sooooo happy I found you!
                                                     Bobbi

Lovely course! I felt safe in exploring a medium I’ve always found intimidating. I love watercolor painting. I feel like I never really saw a flower before. Thank you!

You are an awesome teacher! I loved concentrating a whole week on flowers. The pace of your teaching and the separate items of petals, flowers, leaves, backgrounds & containers were very helpful.

From the minute I walked in I felt at home. As a beginner I felt encouraged plus a growth spurt (or two). What a wonderful opportunity to be brave and have fun in the company of other exciting artists.
                                                     Joanne
I have never enjoyed painting more! Although I feel I have much more to learn, I have a feeling that it is possible! I have very positive feelings about the time spent this week and a sense that whatever I paint it is for me to enjoy. Your very positive attitude was wonderful.

Your style is the most important element of the workshop- easy going, playful, encouraging. What helps me most is the demonstration of various techniques & attempting to do them. You have done what I hoped the workshop would do- reinforced my courage & confidence and given me lots of ideas of what I need to do to continue learning about watercolor at home.
Looking forward to my next workshop with you!

I enjoyed this class so very much- loved your method of teaching- your "positive" way of teaching us how to view our work without negative thinking! So many hints on all the how- to's. I am so inspired and excited. This class is the "best" one I have ever taken. Thank you!

First, I would like to thank you for being such a good teacher and being so very helpful to a rank beginner. I felt at first overwhelmed, but then I felt liberated and could soar.  This was a great week spent doing something just for me. And that is rare. What I feel particularly helpful is what you can do after just one week. You lose all track of time and that in itself is rare. Again, Thank you!
