ANN LINDSAY
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOPS
Based on the ground-breaking course published in her book Watercolor: A New Beginning: A Holistic approach to Painting Ann Lindsay's Beginning Watercolor Workshops provide a safe, relaxed and enjoyable place to begin and continue to paint in watercolor.
The purpose of these workshops is to help you break through your artistic fears and inhibitions and begin to experience the process and possibilities of watercolor painting. Ann will help you take fear and judgment out of the process, allowing you to re-awaken the unfettered creative spirit of childhood as you discover the joy of painting in watercolor. Basic techniques are presented and an immense amount of learning takes place in an experiential and playful way.
Intermediate and advanced intermediate students can always count on supportive independent instruction in any of the workshops.
2008 ANN LINDSAY STUDIO WORKSHOPS
Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain
FULL June
23-27,
2008 Grafton,
New York
In response to requests by many of my students I am once again offering “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.” Using Dr. Betty Edwards book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain as our text, we will learn the basic strategies of seeing that will enable us to draw our perceptions clearly and accurately. We will learn to “turn off” the dominant left hemisphere which interferes with drawing because of what it knows, and “turn on” the non-dominant right hemisphere that “sees clearly” and has no problem drawing. You will learn a set of “tools” that will serve you well in all future drawing experiences. It is great fun in addition to being absolutely amazing! No previous art experience is necessary!

days Grafton, New York
Our
yearning to connect with our world and express its beauty is natural and
vital. Painting the landscape in watercolor offers us a way to feel that
connection and experience our place in the world. It also gives us a
wonderful way to enrich our vacations and travels. Sitting and painting a
little watercolor in a place internalizes our experience of being there and
brings it back to us like no photograph can do.
